SUNBENDR Channel British Inspiration While Staying True to Their Indie Rock Roots on Shimmering New Single “Pictures”
SAN DIEGO, CA — Southern California’s genre-bending rock outfit SUNBENDR return with their new single, “Pictures.”
“Pictures feels like our ode to some of our favorite British bands while staying true to our indie rock roots,” says singer/bassist Chris Coté. “Brandon’s guitar lines on this song glitter and sparkle while weaving through spacey curves. Frank’s drumming is tight and powerful as always, and the singing on this song is a bit more melodic and relaxed than some of our other tracks. ‘Pictures’ has more in common with our last release, ‘Stay All Night,’ than our first songs like ‘White Lamborghini’ and ‘Cut to the Quick,’ but still fits in nicely with our canon of songs—we like diversity in sound, and we hope you do too.”
“Pictures” marks the fourth release from the band’s dynamic five-song session with acclaimed producer George Perks (Enter Shikari, You Me at Six). Recorded in March 2025 between Tom DeLonge’s private home studio and Chris Prescott’s Belly of the Whale Studio, the track captures SUNBENDR at full creative strength—fusing expansive atmosphere with the band’s trademark urgency.
Balancing post-punk grit with widescreen, heart-swelling melodies, “Pictures” showcases SUNBENDR’s growing emotional range and sonic ambition—a sound equally at home in sweaty clubs or echoing across festival fields.
