HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — SoCal punk-ska band Mad Tab has released “Don’t Blink,” the fourth single from its forthcoming full-length album, alas... the bomb voyage!, arriving September 18, 2026.

The album marks Mad Tab’s third full-length record and sixth release overall, as well as the band’s first through Norwood Fisher’s Innanuttshell Reekordingz, distributed by The Orchard via BFE.

Fast, direct and unfiltered, “Don’t Blink” draws from guitarist and co-founder Graham “Gram Tab” Kirlin’s experience living with ADHD. The song captures the frustration of searching for answers, struggling to maintain focus and feeling as though time is moving faster than you can keep up with it.

“‘Don’t Blink’ is a tune about having debilitating ADHD,” says Graham. “It’s about running around trying to find what you’re looking for in life when it’s usually right there in front of you. By the time you realize it, it could be too late.”

Mad Tab co-founder Dave “Dave Tab” Malyjurek adds:

“Tons of people like us try different methods to help with ADHD and other mental health struggles and regularly fall short. Either they don’t work, we don’t stick with them even though we genuinely want to, or we can’t focus on them long enough for them to make a difference.

“You can have great ideas and start several things at the same time, then get stuck or freeze because they all seem equally urgent. There can be shame, guilt and depression surrounding that, along with people trying to tell you how to manage it, which is usually draining. ‘Don’t Blink’ is about living with the exhaustion and frustration of a neurodivergent brain.”

“Don’t Blink” is part of a larger album that looks at personal struggle, addiction, relationships, mental health, authority and the pressure to conform. Throughout alas... the bomb voyage!, Mad Tab confronts difficult subjects without pretending to have easy answers.

“We’re talking about the stuff many people don’t want to talk about,” Dave says. “I think a lot of people, at any age, will be able to relate to at least one of these songs. This album is an unflinching look at the real world—all of it.”

Drawing from the history of punk, ska and reggae as music rooted in resistance and self-expression, Mad Tab delivers its message through music that is intentionally gritty and immediate. The songs speak to people dealing with their own struggles, questioning authority or simply trying to find their place in a culture driven by consumption and instant gratification.

“Don’t Blink” follows the previously released album tracks “Awake,” “Stock Itch” and “Animals.” Music videos for “Awake” and “Stock Itch” are available now, with videos for “Animals” and “Don’t Blink” also on the way.

The track was recorded by Hayden Hanson of Tunnel Vision at Tubetown Studios in San Clemente, California, and mixed by Jim Monroe at The Racket Room Recordings in Santa Ana.

alas... the bomb voyage! continues the creative partnership between Norwood Fisher of Fishbone, Graham Kirlin and Dave Malyjurek. Together, they bring decades of music, film, production and DIY experience to a record built around honest storytelling and the freedom to say exactly what they mean.
