Brazilian rock ’n’ roll band Banda AL9 are bringing their high-energy sound to the United States this November, arriving on the heels of a breakout year that has seen the group reach an international audience and earn the support of one of rock ’n’ roll’s most influential champions, Little Steven Van Zandt.
The band will be joined throughout the 12-date run by Buffalo’s The Burkharts, whose harmony-packed, sun-soaked sound channels the best of ’60s pop, surf and rock ’n’ roll. Two young bands from different corners of the world, Banda AL9 and The Burkharts are connected by a shared love for big melodies, guitars, vocal harmonies and classic rock ’n’ roll.
The tour begins November 1 at The Middle East in Boston and includes stops in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and more before wrapping November 15 at Buffalo Iron Works.
Banda AL9’s latest album, Hey! Hey! We’re Banda AL9, was released in July 2026 through Little Steven’s Wicked Cool Records, marking a major new chapter for the group. The album brings together newly remixed and remastered versions of some of AL9’s most popular songs alongside new material, including “She Can Do It All,” written by Kurt Baker and Wyatt Funderburk, and “Indigo Skye,” a song written especially for the band by Little Steven.
The relationship with Little Steven and Wicked Cool Records has helped introduce Banda AL9 to a much wider audience, connecting the young Brazilian group with listeners throughout the United States and around the world through the label and Little Steven’s Underground Garage.
Their music has also caught the attention of another legendary rock ’n’ roll tastemaker: Elton John, who featured the band’s version of The Rubinoos’ “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” on his radio show.
But Banda AL9’s story began long before their arrival on Wicked Cool Records.
Formed in Brazil and led by brothers Matheus Khouri and Thiago Khouri, the band built its following from the ground up, developing a catalog of original songs and a reputation as an exciting live act while steadily expanding its audience beyond its home country.
Acoustic performances and original songs shared on TikTok helped bring that music to listeners around the world, with the band’s videos generating more than 12 million views. Songs including “Chama de Amor” and “She Calls Me Love” became viral favorites, and the group’s growing momentum eventually led to a collaboration with Steve Aoki.
Their combination of youthful energy, memorable songs and an unmistakable enthusiasm for rock ’n’ roll ultimately caught the attention of an international network of artists, producers and music industry veterans.
That same spirit runs throughout Hey! Hey! We’re Banda AL9.
Rock at Night called the record “the ultimate power-pop summer soundtrack,” while CD HotList praised its “tight harmonies, chiming 12-string guitar arpeggios, handclaps on the backbeat, and hooks hooks hooks,” declaring it “the best driving-with-the-roof-down album I’ve heard in five years.”
Jersey Beat described Banda AL9’s music as “fun, good-time music” that channels the early Beatles and Beach Boys, while Faster & Louder wrote, “The joy that they exude is genuine and infectious. Trends in music come and go, but melody, harmonies, and catchy choruses are eternal. World, meet Banda AL9.”
Poprock Record hailed the group as a “Brazilian Beatlesque sensation” and said its breezy hooks “will have you double hand-clapping along.”
Now, with Hey! Hey! We’re Banda AL9 serving as their international calling card, the band is ready for its biggest American adventure yet.
The November tour will bring the songs from the album directly to American audiences and represents another major step forward for a Brazilian band whose story has quickly grown from local beginnings to an internationally recognized label, airplay and support from legendary artists, and an expanding fanbase thousands of miles from home.
With Little Steven and Wicked Cool Records in their corner, a new album out in the world and their sights firmly set on what comes next, Banda AL9 are ready to make some noise in America.
