GET MARRIED'S 'Songs For The Sleepless' LP Out Now on Asian Man and Wiretap Records
San Jose’s Get Married just released their new LP 'Songs For The Sleepless' and you can stream it here:
Praise for Get Married:
"While the stylistic influence that Elvis and the Beach Boys have had on Get Married is clear, it's just the jumping-off point for the six-piece San Jose-based outfit. With deep roots in the South Bay's DIY punk scene, Get Married also effortlessly incorporates power pop, metal and soul into a much more modern and expansive take on the genre. Encompassing the rollicking rhythms of rockabilly, the emotional depth of doo-wop and a love of guitar solos that betrays a certain hair metal influence, the band conjures a sense of nostalgia for the past without ever descending into sappy cliches."- MetroActive
"Musically speaking, the fuzzy indie rock influence of early Weezer shines through in both the guitar sound and worshipful nods to their classic song structures seem to lurk just out my mental reach. This seems to be tightly entwined with the raw, searing melodic punk rock of Samiam and the heavily rock n’ roll influenced shy boy power pop of River City High and a hint of Teen Idols."- Apathy and Exhaustion
"Get Married continue to hit you with perfect poppy punk moments that are tempered with a more rock ‘n roll sensibility to keep them away from the pop punk packs well trodden and predictable path."- The Punk Site
"The song is rambunctious, and there’s definitely a punk aesthetic bleeding into the energy of the track. The music video is a wild ride of feeling isolated and alienated even on earth." The Alternative

Somewhere beyond the prying eyes of the city, out by the roadside chapel, there’s an intersection where parallel roads overlap. Lovers and loners. Elvis and Ozma. Alkaline Trio and Iron Maiden. Here, they all cross paths. Legend says that if you stand at the center, close your eyes, give yourself up to fate and take what comes, then you will hear two words echo through your head. Get Married.
Get Married are eternal optimists. Teens of nowhere who lie dreaming in leather jackets. Awake in a bedroom, they listen to the rain and sing ballads of the night you met.
In 2016 the band released the Into the Cosmos 7” on Wiretap Records, a four song EP that celebrates everything about having, holding, longing, and losing.
[Since then, they’ve fine-tuned what heartstrings they have left for their first full-length. Due out on August 17th via Asian Man Records and Wiretap Records, Songs For The Sleepless finds the band doubling down on every bet they’ve made, going for broke in a night race to destiny.]
For Get Married there’s no fading out. You either make it to the other side, or you crash and burn. And if you’re out there now, by the roadside chapel, take a chance. Step into the crossroads, close your eyes, and listen. If you do, you just might hear them as they tear by into the night.
